Phone Companies Will Lie
When you sign up for a new home phone plan, watch out! These phone companies will give you the supposedly best plan at the lowest price to fit your budget and needs all at the same time. Blah blah blah. Liars!!!
I recently got home phone service with a company here in my area. I do not really need the phone but wanted internet and dial up is all that was available in my area right now. Stinks huh? I was told by the very nice rep that my plan would run me $56 a month for everything. The reason was so I would have unlimited long distance so I wouldn't be charged long distance charges for using dial up. My second bill was out of this world! A whopping $276 and that was for the long distance only!
I politely contacted my new phone company to complain and they couldn't find my account! What?! They found it after about 10 minutes and went to telling me that I had to have area calling in order to not be charged the long dist
ance. I told this rep what I had been told and she was kind enough to adjust my bill for $90. After I thought about it the more angry I got. That was still $176 dollars or so I had to pay for a service that was only supposed to run $56. I called back the next day and a nice man told me he could not do anything else. So I got smart and asked him if they did in fact record all calls and he stuttered yes they did. I kindly asked to go back and listen to the lady tell me what my plan was and what my charges would be.
By the end of the second call he adjusted my bill the rest of the money that I did not owe. I have not recieved my third bill yet. It better be what it is supposed to be. So when you get new service be sure your call is recorded so that if you run into any errors on your bill you can back up your claim. Most people would just get mad and pay the bill and that is not right. Phone companies should not take advantage of people and then try to smooth things over by adjusting a tiny portion.
