Are you a Social Networking Fanatic?
There comes a time in a person's virtual life when they may realize that they spend way too much time on the internet without actually doing anything. You more than likely use the internet for business and for personal use. It is during our personal time that we can tend to become a social fanatic with websites like MySpace or Twitter.
MySpace and Twitter are different in many ways and yet many of those who have one account will often have the other. Facebook is also a lot like MySpace and many people have an account with them as well. I like being social and have found that during my business time on the internet it is too often ended with a quick glance that turns into an hour of my time on one of these social networking sites.
Social networking sites have done wonders for many people's ego but it can also do a lot to get a person down. Take for instance the women who emailed a girl in her daughter's school with messages containing a lot of name calling as she acted as though she was a boy that the young girl liked. Later on the girl committed suicide and the women e
nded up in jail. The internet can be your friend or it can be one of your worst enemies.
Once you are able to make a name for yourself on the internet it is vitally important to try and keep that name in good standing. Keeping your name in good standing can be done by paying attention to those who want to learn from you or those who like to listen to what you have to say.
Being glued to social networking sites can be fun and it can also help your income to grow on the internet or out in the real world. It is only when you tend to spend all of your free time on the internet in these social networking sites that it may become a problem. I don't know if they have an anonymous group for internet addicts but if they don't they probably should have.
As I write this I am wondering if I would fall into this group of people who are addicted to social networking sites. I don't think that I am but when my computer comes on I must check my MySpace, Facebook, and Twitter account before I do anything else.
